On June 6, 2025 a tragic crash killed one individual and injured two others on Highway-58. The victim was identified as forty-one-year old Kari Parsons. The crash occurred around 2 p.m. on the 4700 block of the highway when Parson’s Kia Sorento drifted onto the wrong side of the road, colliding head on with a GMC. Parsons and the driver and passenger of the GMC were taken to the hospital, where Parsons was pronounced deceased. The driver and passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries

Parson’s family started a GoFundMe to pay for the funeral. What caused Parsons to drift across the centerline of the road is still undetermined. The Chattanooga Police Department Traffic Unit is conducting an investigation.
